Pinehurst is a small town in northern Idaho's Coeur d'Alene River valley, about 50 miles east of Spokane via Interstate 90. The area features forested hills and mountain views, with a continental climate bringing warm summers and snowy winters. Most visitors arrive on I-90 or Highway 3 from Coeur d'Alene, about 15 miles west. The restored 1910 Pinehurst Depot now houses a museum dedicated to the town's railroad and mining history.
