Piedmont is a small city in southeastern Missouri's Wayne County, connected by Highway 34 running east-west and State Route 49 north-south. Most visitors arrive via Highway 34 from Poplar Bluff, 25 miles east, which also provides access to Interstate 55 for longer trips to St. Louis or Memphis. The city of about 3,000 sits in Ozark foothill country surrounded by farms and forest land. Each April, Piedmont hosts its famous Dogwood-Azalea Festival when thousands of flowering trees transform the streets into a spectacular spring showcase.
