Pickstown is a small Missouri River town built in the 1950s for Fort Randall Dam workers. Located 90 miles west of Sioux Falls via US 18, it's accessible through Winner (35 miles west) or north via Highway 83 to I-90. The area draws visitors for Fort Randall Lake recreation during hot summers. The town retains its original planned layout with curved streets and distinctive mid-century company town architecture.
