Pick City is a tiny lakeside community of 144 people on Lake Sakakawea, about 60 miles northwest of Bismarck via US 83 north and Highway 200 west. The town sits near the massive Garrison Dam on the Missouri River, creating excellent fishing and boating opportunities. Most visitors come for lake recreation, especially during summer months when the area comes alive with anglers and water sports enthusiasts. The Garrison Dam itself is one of the largest earthen dams in the world and offers public tours.
