Philo is a small farming community in east-central Illinois, about 12 miles south of Champaign-Urbana. Take I-57 to Exit 235, then County Road 14 east, or drive straight down Philo Road from Champaign through the cornfields. The grain elevator by the railroad tracks has been the town's landmark since the late 1800s.
