Perryton is a small farming city in the Texas Panhandle, about 15 miles from Oklahoma. US Highway 83 runs right through town, connecting north to Kansas and south toward Amarillo 120 miles away. The area is classic High Plains country with endless wheat fields and oil wells. The massive grain elevators downtown can be spotted from miles across the flat prairie.
