Pennville is a small farming town of about 600 people in east-central Indiana's Jay County, reached via State Road 67 about 15 miles northeast of Portland. Most visitors arrive from Fort Wayne (45 miles southeast) by taking US-27 north through Decatur. The town's historic grain elevator towers over the surrounding corn and soybean fields, serving as a landmark visible for miles.
