Pelion is a small town of about 1,000 people in Lexington County, 20 miles southwest of Columbia via I-20 Exit 44 and Highway 302. The area features rolling hills and farmland typical of central South Carolina's Midlands region. Each August, the town hosts the South Carolina Peanut Party, celebrating local agriculture with music, food, and peanut-themed festivities.
