Peetz is a farming town in northeastern Colorado's high plains, sitting at the crossroads of Highway 14 and County Road 77 near the Nebraska border. Most visitors drive Highway 14 from Sterling (30 miles west) or take Highway 138 from Julesburg. The Peetz Table, a distinctive flat-topped hill, rises dramatically from the surrounding prairie and serves as a landmark visible for miles across the wheat fields and grassland.
