Pearson is a small county seat in south Georgia's farm country, reached via US 441 about 45 miles northwest of Valdosta. The town of 1,900 sits among pine forests and agricultural fields, serving rural Atkinson County. Most visitors drive up from Interstate 75 at Tifton or come through Douglas. The 1920s brick courthouse with white columns dominates the town square.
