Pearl River is a small Louisiana town of 2,600 people located 45 miles northeast of New Orleans along the Mississippi border. Highway 90 provides the main east-west route through town, connecting to Interstate 10 for New Orleans access, while Highway 41 links north to Mississippi. The Pearl River forms the state line here, and the town hosts an annual Catfish Festival each April that's been running since 1981.
