Payette is a small agricultural town in southwestern Idaho, right on the Snake River across from Oregon. Highway 95 runs straight through downtown, connecting north to Weiser and south toward Boise (45 minutes via I-84). Most visitors come from the Treasure Valley or cross over from Ontario, Oregon, which has the nearest airport just 5 miles away. The 1904 red brick courthouse with white trim dominates the historic downtown and can be spotted from several blocks away.
