Patterson Tract is a small Central Valley farming community about 10 miles southeast of Visalia, accessible via State Route 198 east from Visalia or Highway 99 to Visalia for long-distance travelers. The unincorporated area of 2,000 residents sits among citrus groves and dairy operations, with Visalia Municipal Airport 15 miles northwest. The community was named after the Patterson family, who started one of the area's first major citrus operations in the 1890s.
