Patterson is a small Georgia town of about 900 people in Pierce County, accessible via US Highway 84 east-west and State Route 203 north-south. It's about 25 miles west of Waycross and 40 miles east of Valdosta, sitting in rolling farmland with a humid subtropical climate. The town's claim to fame is its proximity to the scenic Satilla River, whose dark, cypress-lined waters wind through the countryside just south of downtown.
