Patterson is a tiny farming town of 364 people in eastern Arkansas's rice and soybean country along the White River. Take I-40 east from Little Rock about 90 miles, then connect via Highway 38 to reach this rural community on Highway 17. The area sits in fertile Delta bottomland that floods seasonally, and it's part of the White River National Wildlife Refuge where massive flocks of ducks and geese stop during migration.
