This tiny Ohio River town in southeastern Indiana sits along State Road 56, about 10 miles east of Vevay. Most visitors arrive from Louisville via local roads that wind through Switzerland County's hilly terrain. The town of 183 residents is named after the steamboat Patriot, which mysteriously vanished on the Ohio River in 1820 carrying Aaron Burr's daughter Theodosia.
