Patrick Air Force Base is a small military community on Florida's Space Coast barrier island, home to about 1,600 residents. Access the base via State Road A1A from either the Pineda Causeway (SR 404) or Cocoa Beach Causeway (SR 520), both connecting to I-95. Most out-of-town visitors take I-95 to Exit 191, then head east on the Pineda Causeway. The base houses the 45th Weather Squadron, which provides meteorological support for Kennedy Space Center rocket launches.
