Patoka is a small farming town of 498 people in south-central Illinois, accessible via State Route 37 about 35 miles southeast of Centralia. The main route is I-64 to Exit 61, then south on Route 37. Salem–Leckrone Airport sits just south of town with a 4,000-foot runway. The historic grain elevator towers over the surrounding farmland as the town's most recognizable landmark.
