Pateros is a small town of 583 people in north-central Washington's Methow River valley. Take US Route 97 north from Chelan for 40 miles, then SR 153 into town. It's surrounded by dry hills and apple orchards in the Cascade rain shadow. The town operates Washington's oldest apple warehouse, built in 1897 and still packing fruit today.
