Parrish is a small Walker County city of about 1,200 people located 45 miles northwest of Birmingham on Highway 78. The main route in is Highway 78 from Birmingham (about an hour's drive), with Highway 269 running north-south through town toward Cullman. The area sits in the Appalachian foothills with rolling terrain and typical Alabama weather. The town features an unusual community art statue celebrating the region's iron and steel heritage.
