Parowan is a small high desert city in Iron County, Utah, sitting at 5,800 feet elevation along Interstate 15. Exit 78 connects directly to Main Street, placing you 18 miles north of Cedar City and 20 miles south of Beaver. State Route 143 heads east toward Brian Head ski area and Cedar Breaks National Monument. The town calls itself "Utah's Mother Town" as the first Mormon settlement in southern Utah, established in 1851.
