Parkin is a small Arkansas Delta town of about 700 people, located 45 miles west of Memphis on US Highway 64. Most visitors arrive from Memphis via US 64 or from Little Rock by taking I-40 to Forrest City, then US 64 west. The town sits in flat cotton and soybean country with hot, humid summers. Parkin Archeological State Park preserves a major Native American village site from 1000-1650 CE.
