Parker is a small river town in western Pennsylvania's Armstrong County, sitting on a bend of the Allegheny River about 60 miles from Pittsburgh. Route 268 provides main access, connecting to Route 28 from Pittsburgh or Interstate 80 from the east via Route 68. The town occupies a narrow strip between river and hills, typical of Pennsylvania's river valley communities. Parker's defining feature is its dramatic location where the Allegheny curves sharply around a wooded peninsula.
