Parkdale is a tiny Jefferson County community of about 200 people, located 30 miles southwest of St. Louis via I-55 and Highway 61/67. The area sits in the rolling Missouri Ozark foothills near the Mississippi River valley. Most visitors use I-55 to Exit 170, then follow Highway 61/67 west into town, while locals commute daily to nearby Festus and Crystal City. The old Parkdale School building from the early 1900s still stands as a landmark of the community's educational past.
