Park River is a small farming town in northeastern North Dakota, about 45 miles north of Grand Forks via US Highway 17. The main route from Minnesota takes Highway 32 west from Grafton. Most visitors arrive from Grand Forks after taking I-29 north from Fargo. The town sits along the Park River in rolling prairie country and serves the surrounding agricultural area. Its 1914 Carnegie Library on Main Street is one of the few original Carnegie libraries still operating in North Dakota.
