Papillion is a suburb southwest of Omaha, easily reached via Interstate 80 or Highway 370. Most traffic flows north to Omaha for work or south to Offutt Air Force Base. The city got its name from French traders who were amazed by the massive butterfly migrations along Papillion Creek each spring.
