Paoli sits in southern Indiana's Orange County along State Road 56, which connects the town east to west through the region's rolling hills. US Highway 150 provides the main north-south route, linking to French Lick (8 miles west) and larger regional centers. Most visitors arrive via these two highways, while locals use the same routes for daily commutes to nearby communities. The Orange County Courthouse, built in 1847, is one of Indiana's oldest continuously operating courthouses.
