Panguitch is a small mountain town on US 89 in southern Utah, serving as the main gateway to Bryce Canyon National Park just 25 miles east via scenic Highway 12. The town sits at 6,600 feet elevation with cool summers and snowy winters. Most visitors drive here from Salt Lake City or Las Vegas (both about 4 hours) to access the region's national parks. The name comes from a Paiute word meaning "big fish."
