Palmer is a tiny farming town in north-central Iowa, sitting right on Highway 3 about 15 miles east of Pocahontas. Most folks reach it via Highway 3 from either direction, or by taking Highway 169 north from Fort Dodge then heading west. The whole town spans less than two square miles but still keeps its own post office along the main highway.
