Palisades is a small Texas Panhandle community of 265 people, located about 15 miles southwest of Amarillo via Interstate 27. The town sits on rolling prairie where the high plains meet the Canadian River valley. Tradewind Airport serves the area for private aircraft, and the community takes its name from the dramatic rock palisades of nearby Palo Duro Canyon.
