Palisade lies twelve miles northeast of Grand Junction along Highway 6, a farming town of 2,600 known as Colorado's peach capital. Most visitors take I-70 to Exit 42, then follow Highway 6 east through orchards and vineyards. The town sits in a protected river valley at 4,700 feet, where hot summers and rich soil produce some of the state's sweetest peaches and award-winning wines.
