Paint is a small Pennsylvania borough in Somerset County, about 15 miles southeast of Johnstown via scenic Route 985. Most visitors arrive from I-76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike) at Exit 110, then take Route 31 east to Route 985 south. The community sits in the Laurel Highlands' rolling hills, with Route 985 serving as the main connection to Johnstown and regional services. Paint gets its unique name from Paint Creek, whose reddish water comes from natural iron oxide deposits in the streambed.
