Paducah is a small farming town in the Texas Rolling Plains, connected to the world by US Highway 83. Most visitors pass through on this north-south route between Childress and Matador, or arrive from Lubbock 70 miles southeast. The surrounding cotton country and wide-open spaces make for easy driving with excellent visibility. The town's 1909 red brick courthouse with its prominent clock tower serves as a landmark visible for miles across the prairie.
