Ozawkie is a small Kansas town of about 600 people on Perry Lake's shores, 30 miles northeast of Topeka via US Highway 24. The town serves as a gateway to Perry Lake State Park, offering fishing, boating, and camping on 11,150 acres of water. Most visitors arrive on Highway 24 from Topeka or connect via US 59 from Lawrence. The annual Ozawkie Days festival features a beloved turtle race where kids compete with painted box turtles.
