Oxford lies along US Highway 136 in south-central Nebraska, about 25 miles west of Holdrege and 35 miles east of McCook. The town connects north to Interstate 80 via Highway 183 through Alma. Most visitors arrive on US 136, which runs straight through the town center. Oxford's historic Carnegie Library, built in 1917, still serves the community today.
