Owasa is a tiny farming community of 25 people in north-central Iowa's Hardin County, about 15 miles southeast of Iowa Falls via Highway 175. Most visitors drive from Des Moines on I-35 north to Highway 175 west, about 90 minutes total. The settlement sits among rolling corn and soybean fields along the Iowa River valley, where the historic Owasa School building still stands despite the community's dwindling population.
