Otter Lake is a tiny farming community in Michigan's Lapeer County, about an hour north of Detroit via I-75 and M-15. The area's rolling countryside is sprinkled with small lakes that draw summer visitors for fishing and boating. Most traffic comes from locals commuting to Flint or Saginaw, plus seasonal lake traffic. The town was named after a small lake that historically attracted large numbers of otters before the fur trade wiped them out.
