Osburn lies along I-90 in Idaho's Silver Valley, about 50 miles east of Coeur d'Alene and 60 miles from Spokane. The town sits in a narrow mountain valley at 2,200 feet elevation, with the South Fork Coeur d'Alene River running through it. State Route 4 heads north into old mining country toward Murray. The most striking sight is the massive concrete flood wall protecting downtown from the river that devastated the original town in the 1990s.
