Osakis is a small lake town in central Minnesota's Douglas County, sitting on the shores of Lake Osakis about 15 miles north of Alexandria via Highway 127. Most visitors arrive by taking I-94 to Exit 103 in Alexandria, then following Highway 29 west into town. The area offers classic Minnesota lake country with resorts, fishing, and outdoor recreation. The historic downtown movie theater from the 1930s still shows films and hosts community events on weekends.
