Osage Beach is the main resort town on Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks, about 160 miles from both St. Louis and Kansas City. Most visitors drive US 54 south, connecting from I-44 via US 63 from St. Louis or from US 50/65 from Kansas City. The lakefront city developed around the 1930s dam project and centers on the famous Tan-Tar-A Resort, which has welcomed presidents and celebrities for over 60 years.
