Orwell is a small city in northeastern Ohio's Ashtabula County, positioned at the crossroads of Routes 45 and 322 about 45 miles from Cleveland. The area experiences lake-effect snow from nearby Lake Erie and serves as a natural stopping point between major cities. Most visitors arrive via Route 45, which connects to Interstate 80 about 15 miles south, while Route 322 provides east-west access through rolling farmland. The city is home to Grand River Academy, a therapeutic boarding school operating from a historic campus since 1968.
