Oquawka is a small Mississippi River town in western Illinois, just across from Iowa via the Great River Bridge on US Route 34. Highway 164 runs through town, connecting to US 67 and larger cities like Galesburg (35 miles northeast) and Burlington, Iowa (15 miles west). The town of about 1,000 sits on river bluffs surrounded by farmland, with limited EV charging nearby. Visitors come to see Norma, a 25-foot elephant statue that's watched over Main Street since 1962.
