Opp is a small Alabama city where US 331 and State Route 52 intersect in Covington County. Most visitors arrive on US 331 from Montgomery (90 miles north) or the Florida border. The South Alabama Regional Airport serves the area for general aviation. The town got its distinctive name from a railroad surveyor who marked the spot as "opportunity" when the Louisville and Nashville Railroad arrived in the early 1900s.
