Oologah is a small lakeside town about 30 miles northeast of Tulsa, easily reached via Highway 169 north. The community of 1,774 sits on the shores of massive Oologah Lake, a 29,500-acre reservoir that's become one of Oklahoma's top bass fishing spots. Will Rogers, the famous humorist and actor, was born here in 1879.
