Ontario is a tiny farming village in southwestern Wisconsin's Vernon County with about 400 residents. Reach it via Highway 131 from Sparta (north) or through Cashton on Highway 162 from La Crosse (35 miles northeast). The village sits in the scenic Driftless Area among rolling hills that escaped glaciation. Ontario's claim to fame is its location in Wisconsin's largest Amish settlement, where horse-drawn buggies regularly travel the local roads.
