Ong is a tiny farming community of 50 people in south-central Nebraska's Clay County. Drive Highway 14 south from Hastings (25 miles) or north from Kansas to reach this Republican River valley settlement. Most visitors come via Highway 281 from Grand Island, about 45 miles through corn and soybean country. The village sits near old railroad grades that once hauled grain across the Great Plains.
