Onaway is a small northern Michigan city of 674 people, reached via State Route 33 from Cheboygan (25 miles north) or Atlanta (30 miles south). Route 68 connects it to Rogers City and Lake Huron to the east. The area gets heavy snow in winter but offers great summer weather for outdoor activities. The restored 1940s Onaway Theater downtown still shows movies on its original screen.
