Onaka is a tiny farming town of 25 people in central South Dakota's prairie country. US Highway 83 runs through the area, connecting it to Pierre 90 miles south and Bismarck to the north, while State Highway 20 provides east-west access. The post office has served local farmers since the early 1900s.
