Onaga is a small farming town in northeastern Kansas, about 60 miles northwest of Topeka and 25 miles west of Manhattan along Highway 16. Most visitors arrive via Highway 24 to Highway 16, passing through rolling wheat country and cattle pastures. The town serves as a quiet stop between Manhattan and western Kansas destinations. Its most notable landmark is the 1881 stone jail, now a museum showcasing frontier railroad history.
