Omer is a tiny lakeside community on Saginaw Bay where US-23 runs right through town. Most visitors come from Bay City (30 miles south) or the Tri-Cities area for the beaches and fishing. The highway connects north to Tawas and the Huron National Forest. Omer operates one of Michigan's smallest post offices, which doubles as the village hall.
